7 Postdoctoral Positions at the University of Cambridge, UK

1. Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Senior Research Associate in Sustainable Consumption (Fixed Term)

The University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) is seeking to appoint a Fellow (0.8 FTE – full-time, 18 months) in sustainable consumption under The Prince of Wales Global Sustainability Fellowship Programme. Funding for the Fellowship has been secured through a philanthropic donation from Sainsbury’s plc but academic stewardship of the Programme lies with CISL. The successful candidate will explore how supermarkets can enable sustainable consumption through the effective design and use environmental measures of food products (e.g. carbon footprints), drawing conclusions about how such information could impact consumer and industry behaviour.

2. Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Associate/Assistant (Fixed Term)

Applications are invited for a full-time post-doctoral position to develop functional nanoparticles. The project will build nanoparticle-based biological reactors capable of concentrating targets and effectors to accelerate intracellular reactions. The properties of the nanoparticles (size, shape, intrinsic structure, ligand functionalisation) will be manipulated to control the proximity effect, and the reactors so-designed will drive target protein degradation via the ubiquitin-proteasome system as well as lysosomal pathways.

Deadline : 25 September 2022

3. Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Assistant/Associate (Fixed Term)

We are excited to announce a new opening for a Research Assistant/Associate position at Cambridge University as part of S2UPPlant: Smart Sustainable Plastic Packaging from Plants.

S2UPPlant is a NERC-funded interdisciplinary research project which aims to produce and characterise new compostable materials from natural feedstocks, with the highest potential for industrial scale-up and a rigorous assessment of their environmental and economic impact and changes required for widespread adoption. The outcomes will be an improved scientific understanding of naturally derived plastics and a suite of prototype materials suitable for emerging markets in compostable films and fibres.

4. Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Assistant/Associate – Bioinformatician (Fixed Term)

Applications are invited for a skilled computational biologist/bioinformatician to join the CSCI’s Core Bioinformatics Group (https://www.corebioinf.stemcells.cam.ac.uk/). The group applies and creates state-of-the-art computational methods for the understanding of the biological properties and biomedical potential of stem cells (https://www.corebioinf.stemcells.cam.ac.uk/publications). We process extensive collections of diverse samples generated by CSCI PIs or through collaborations with local and international groups. We contribute to exciting and challenging international projects to systematically disentangle gene-to-gene interactions in stem cells.
